Our 8-10 Inches of Snow in Tennessee

Last night began the snow of West Tennessee. If you know much about West Tennessee, you know that they rarely get significant snow fall. Yesterday Ann, Katie and I attended the Women of Hope conference in Memphis and had a great day. I left shortly after lunch since the weather "officials" were talking about the snow we would receive. Not too long after I returned home, we got a call from Corky and Susanne who said that I-40 was looking pretty bad and we offered to let them crash here and wait out the snow and crazy drivers. An hour and 20 minutes later (30 miles) they arrived to the home with snow in tow. It snowed for many hours last night and ended up with 9-10 inches here in Huntersville. Colonel did not know what to make of the snow today but by the end of the day was playing and sticking his head constantly in the snow. Hope this pics can bring you a laugh for today!

Delay in Post!

So it has been a few months since any posts have rolled out of the Hopper house. Much has happened since our last post including our BIG news that coming in August, Baby Hopper will join us on the Lilypad! Our home computer has been infected with a virus which means at least for the time being, no pictures :(

Kyle has headed to Missouri to help Ashby (one of our wonderful seminary friends) with diaster relief and his hometown has been slammed with the ice storm with no power expected for at least 6-9 more days. Ashby is feeling the pressure that Kyle did almost one year ago when the tornado swept through Jackson. There is no place Kyle would rather be that assisting another minister with what was such a large task for him a year ago. Mandy and the girls are at our house staying warm and playing at the church. We are so grateful for friends!

Hopefully, I will be able to post some pictures soon from the last couple of months.

Labor Day Fun

We had an amazing Labor Day! Mom, Dad, Mamaw, Daniel, Robyn and Thomas all came down to see us. There were eight in our house and we loved it! A good weekend of playing at the house, having a good time at North Park here in Jackson and going to church together! We realize how blessed we are with family!

Anniversary

Last weekend Kyle and I celebrated our fourth year of marriage by spending it with friends in Nashville! We had a truly amazing weekend. On the spur of the moment Friday night we decided to drive to Nashville. We met Kyle's roommate Chris for dinner at Mellow Mushroom which is always such a good meal and enjoyed seeing his wonderful new home! We found a room at the Park Hyatt near Opry Mills and stayed the night just relaxing and watching movies. Saturday morning we shopped at a used bookstore and then met Joanna for lunch at Fido. After hanging out with her for the morning and early afternoon we headed to do a little shopping at Opry Mills before enjoying dinner with the Mercer's. All around it was a wonderful anniversary! We are so blessed to have had the last four years together and thank the Lord that He has increased our love for each other and our love for Him!

A Month In Review!

Somewhere in the midst of things...July was lost so I thought I would post a few updates from July and maybe I can do better since we have moved on to August!
The first few are from VBS - which was amazing while at the same time completely exhausting! We had over 75 children total to register and over 50 adults to help! Praise to the Lord who supplied every need for help and assistance throughout the week. There was a huge volcano and a lot of island talk throughout the week.

The second set of pictures are from our much needed trip to Louisville! I got to visit with my family and my AMAZING nephew! It was a blessing to receive each hug and hear the words "I love you!" The Lord is Good!

The month ended with a trip to Six Flags St. Louis with our youth! We had 16 youth and four adults! It was a quick trip but a break from reality before the kids headed back to school!

So July came and went before we knew what to do! Updates on our anniversary and family life to come wiki-wiki (quickly, quickly for those of you who are not familiar with this year's VBS music)! Love to you ALL!

The rest of the weekend

Kyle and I spent the rest of Saturday evening fishing - and boy did I catch a big one! On Sunday our friends Josh and Jamie came over for lunch and to spend the day with us! We had such a great time just talking and hanging out over lunch. Colonel enjoyed having all the company this weekend and everyone spoiled him with loving, I think he may be more sad to see everyone go than we were!! It was sad to see the holiday weekend come to a close but back to work we go...

Fourth of July Part One

What an amazing Fourth of July we had. My parents came in on Thursday night and brought all of the VBS stuff Robyn had collected for use to use (THANKS TO ALL!) and we had a great evening together grilling out! On Friday, we spent the day with the Hoppers for the fish fry enjoying all of the fish that Kyle and Mike caught this spring. Drew (our nephew) was full of energy and life as he had a good time on the swing, cut the grass and drove the wagon all day! We sat around the table and enjoyed a great time with the Clem's, Hopper's, Yaun's, Short's and Evan's! It was a great day! After shopping on Saturday, my parents headed back to Louisville and we settled in for the night. More about our weekend to come...thanks for reading about our holiday!
